We thought we would send you an update from Harborfields, and let you know about some events coming up, and about some special offers. But first of all, a big thank you to all those of you who have already made reservations for this season! We are really looking forward to your visits. Here at the beginning of May, the docks are in, boats are just starting to show up, the water is on to most of the cottages, and we've already had our first guests of the season come and go.
This past winter and spring saw us building whole new decks for the Deck and Wharf Cottages, and new railings for the Pine and Rock cottages. We think you will really like them! The railings are much safer, and have even improved the views; and the new decks are just awesome.
Another new addition this winter that we think you will really like, if you haven't seen it already, is a live WebCam looking out over West Boothbay Harbor from Harborfields! Now you can see what the weather is doing here, watch the tide go in and out and the sun pass overhead, and keep an eye on the boats in the harbor. The archive of time-lapse videos (created by the Weather Underground) is very cool. Check it out at http://webcam.harborfields.com/
We continue to make progress on lots of other little projects, too, and some big ones as well -- but we don't want to give away all our secrets, you'll have to come visit to find out!
On to the special offers:
The Deck Cottage is fully insulated and has a gas heater, and the other cottages have woodstoves supplemented by electric heaters, so don't let any thoughts about early season chilliness keep you away! Chances are it will be a gorgeous sunny weekend, and you wouldn't want to miss that, would you? The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and the Boothbay Railway Village have lots of great events planned for the weekend, too.
The Wharf Cottage is built over the water, with a studio/efficiency layout that is ideal for a couple but which can accommodate a family of four. It is our personal favorite!
Some other events that you might think about, as if you needed an excuse to visit:
So if you have been contemplating coming to Boothbay Harbor for a week or so this summer but haven't made your reservations yet, well now is the time. The availability calendars on our website are up-to-date, and there are still a number of openings, but things are filling up. So make your reservation today! Send us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, call us at 207-633-5082, or use the contact form.
We also want to remind you that we are offering a "finder's fee" of $50 to any returning guests who refer a new guest who books a week-long stay during the months of May, June, September or October. Just have them tell us that you sent them! We will also happily send you as many of our new business cards and/or brochures as you might like to distribute.
Finally, just a couple reminders: while we know many of you are quite familiar with Harborfields and your cottage, we do ask that you check in with us at the office upon your arrival. Also note that we are not yet set up to take credit cards, so please bring cash or check to pay your balance.
It is going to be a great year, and we look forward to seeing many of you this summer!
Wendy, Tim, and Bennett
